Buffy’s eyes spun with the lights of the ferries wheel. It was 11:13 at night. Buffy expected the vampires would be coming out about now. Till then she would just wait. She didn’t mind waiting, observing teenagers in there natural habitat. Buffy couldn’t say that she never got to experience the teen thing, ‘cause she did, she just always had to be a teenager and a slayer.
Buffy got up from the bench she was sitting on and stretched out her arms. She was wearing blue jeans and a sheer white top over a white tank top. She was wearing black boots with…wood heels. Her hair was back in a curly ponytail. Just then a man walked up to her. He was good looking and tall with black hair, a bit like Angel really.
“Would you care to join me on the ferries wheel madam? My name is Eric.” He said.
“Yes I would. I’m Buffy” She said with a smile.
Once the carnie had closed them into there cubical the man put his arm around Buffy, she did not object. She could see all the other rides at the wheel climbed higher. Just then Buffy pulled out a stake and shoved it into the ‘mans’ heart just as he was changing into vampire form. The dust rained down for they were at the top.
“C’mon, I wasn’t born yesterday. And the whole madam thing was really tacky.” Buffy said to the dispersing dust particles.

Xander walked into the fairground and looked around for any of his friends. He spotted a familiar looking spot of Blond hair with a very Angel-like companion near the ferries wheel. He followed the two with his eye and spotted about half-way up a bit of dust flew out the carriage, if you didn't know what Vamp dust looked like you wouldn't have seen it and even then it was difficult to see, but it was there.
He walked towards the ferris wheel and stood there, in his casual clothes of jeans and a blue t-shirt, not making a statement, more for the comfort factor. He stood there as the ride came to an end and Buffy's carriage stopped in front of him.
"So I take it that that guy just wasn't up to Buffster standards, bad oral hygiene?" he said smiling
"Wanna join me in walking round this fair-like wonderland?" he said holding out his hand and bowing a little over the top to try and get a giggle out of his best friend and copmpletely ignoring the confused look of the ride operator who was probably wondering where the other guy in the ride had gone.
As the ride came to a stop Buffy hopped off, ignoring the clueless look coming from the carnie. Buffy’s eyes came across Xander. She hadn’t seen much of him lately. She smiled and walked over to him. She let out a lopsided grin when he made the comment about oral hygiene. The reason she didn’t laugh is because they both knew very well that Buffy had just killed another dead person. It got tiring after a while.
“So if I am Alice, who does that make you? The mad hatter perhaps.” Buffy said with a friendly smile.
Her and Xander had been friends a long time, she was glad that, however much it hurt him, she had turned him down on every date he asked her. If not they probably would have broken up and no longer been friends. Though everything that happened, happened for a reason. Though it still irked Buffy that Xander had been oblivious to Willow’s love until it was to late.
Buffy walked over to the cotton candy stand and got a large ball of pink fluff. She peeled of a bit with her fingers and put it in her mouth. Just because she was out slaying didn’t mean she couldn’t have fun. She waved her cotton candy at Xander, not realizing he was so close and hitting him in the face with it.
Xander smiled at Buffy’s quip, that was what made hanging out with her so fun, the two of them could take this act on the road and make a mint if she didn’t have to kill dead things, that whole killing the already killed thing really did make a career in the comedy circuit kind of a no-no. “I’m probably more the White Rabbit, what with the lateness and all, but I’ll take hatter duty” Xander said before pulling a stupid face.
He was so happy he’d literally bumped into Buffy on her first day, sure he had that mecha crush which really had been the starter of their friendship but once he’d tamed that devil he’d really enjoyed the just friendness. He still occasionally wondered what would of happened if they’d of gone to that dance he’d asked her too all those years ago, but he knew he probably would have screwed it up back then and lost her as a friend so he was really happy she’d let him down gently.
Xander laughed as Buffy taunted him with the puffy cotton candy, a laugh that got a little louder when she accidentally hit him with it. He wiped the tiny bot of cotton candy from his nose “Is this a new technique that G-man taught you? Killing your enemies with high sugar levels? I must admit I enjoy being the test subject but I’d dtick to punching and kicking” he said. The smell of the cotton candy on his nose put him in the mood for some himself, so he walked over and bought some before heading back to Buffy and biting into his “Speaking of punching and kicking, how goes the slayage? Start with ferris wheel boy and work backward” he said, before lightly bopping Buffy on the nose with his cotton candy “There, now we’re even”
